According to media reports, the fitment factor of central employees can be increased by 3.68 percent in the new year. According to sources, the fitment factor of central and state employees can be increased by 2023. This will increase the minimum basic salary by 8000.

In fact, for a long time, central employees have been demanding an increase in the fitment factor to increase the basic salary, since the fitment factor is a big measure to determine the minimum salary of central employees. Due to this factor, the salary of central employees increases by more than two and a half times. The pay matrix made in the 7th Pay Commission is based on the fitment factor, in such a situation, the fitment factor is considered to be an important role in the salary received by the employees.

According to media reports, the minimum salary of employees can be increased once again by the Modi government under the 7th Pay Commission. At present, the fitment factor of the employees under the 7th Pay Commission is 2.57 times and the basic salary is 18000. . The fitment factor can be increased to 3.68 per cent, after which the minimum basic salary will be 26000. It is reported that after the budget to be presented in February 2023, the Modi government may consider the fitment factor.

According to media reports, the central employees have written a letter to the Cabinet Secretary demanding to increase the fitment factor and several rounds of discussion have also taken place. If sources are to be believed, it may be agreed to increase the fitment factor 3 times in the new year and the minimum salary may be 21,000 or if it is increased from 2.57 to 3.68, the minimum basic salary will increase from 18 thousand to 26 thousand rupees. However, no official confirmation has been made yet.

Bumper jump in salary

  • Central employees get Rs 18000 as minimum salary while maximum salary is Rs 56,900.
  • For example, if the basic salary of a central employee is Rs 18,000, then his salary excluding allowances will be Rs 18,000 X 2.57 = profit of Rs 46,260 .
  • On being 3.68, the salary will be Rs 95,680 ( 26000 X 3.68 = 95,680 ) i.e. Rs 49,420 will be benefited in the salary.
  • If the fitment factor is 3 times, the salary will be 21000 X 3 = Rs 63,000. The government can take a decision after considering this after the next year’s budget.
  • Last time in 2017 the entry level basic pay was increased from Rs 7000 to Rs 18000 per month.
  • Its 52 lakh employees will get benefits from 50000 to 96000 in basic salary.
