There is good news for the government employees and pensioners of Assam. The state government has increased the dearness allowance for them by more than 2 percent. The new dearness allowance will be applicable from January 1, 2025.
According to the news of ANI, the Assam Cabinet approved it. Giving information, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that we will add 2% more DA with the salary before Bihu and the arrears will be given in the months of April and May. Lakhs of employees and pensioners of the state are going to get the benefit of this.
Dearness allowance will increase to 55%
Earlier, the state government had increased the dearness allowance of government employees and pensioners by 3% in October 2024. After the hike made on Friday, the dearness allowance of state government employees and pensioners will increase from 53% to 55%. The hike in dearness allowance comes after the Union Cabinet on March 28 increased the dearness allowance for central government employees and pensioners by 2%. The DA of central government employees and pensioners has also increased from the existing 53% to 55%.
Keep in mind, the increase in your salary due to increase in dearness allowance will depend on your basic salary. The higher the basic salary, the higher will be the proportion of increase in your salary.
Loan Guarantee Fund Scheme launched
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma further said that we have launched the Loan Guarantee Fund Scheme for Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to empower farmers by providing them better financial support. Strengthening FPOs is important to build a more sustainable and prosperous future for our food producers. The Chief Minister said that the Kamarbandha Rail Overbridge, which has recently been opened to the public, is the fourth such overbridge built by our double engine government in Jorhat.
