The Government of India runs many schemes according to the needs of crores of people. One of these is the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, which is specially designed for those women who still use earthen stoves to cook food. Under this scheme, women from poor families are given free LPG gas connection, so that their life can be better.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was started in the year 2016. Under this scheme, women from poor families get free gas connection, which includes gas cylinder and stove. Apart from this, if they get the gas cylinder refilled, they are also given subsidy by the government.
Who can apply?
Women who fall below the poverty line can avail this scheme. To apply, women can apply by visiting their nearest government agency or CSC center. Apart from this, one can also apply online in Ujjwala Yojana.

Before Diwali, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced to give free gas cylinders to the women taking benefit under this scheme. This will benefit lakhs of women of the state and it will reduce their kitchen expenses to a great extent.
