Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is used in FASTag. However, in recent times many people have faced many problems regarding toll tax. Recently, Dayanand Pachauri, a native of Madhya Pradesh, has accused FASTag that his money was deducted from FASTag even after his car was parked 175 kilometers away. He complained about this to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. In such cases the vehicle owner is entitled to get back the amount deducted.

What is FASTag?

Authorized and operated by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), FASTag is an electronic system for paying highway tolls. It is a rechargeable card, which can be glued as a sticker on a vehicle’s windscreen. It employs RFID technology for making payments directly from the customer’s linked bank account without having to stop at the toll plaza.

FASTag complaint will have to be made here

This complaint can be made in two ways. They can lodge a complaint on NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) toll-free helpline number-1033. You can complain to the officials and offices of your area. According to the NHAI website, if the complaint is true then the wrongly deducted money is returned to the customer within 20-30 working days.

How To Get Refund

Car owners can also lodge a complaint on the helpline number of the fastag issuing bank. Many banks are linked to FASTag and users can connect with the helpline numbers of these banks. They can know the helpline number by clicking on the website of NPCI (National Payments Corporation Website of India).

The website is- www.npci.org.in/what-we-do/netc-fastag/netc-fastag-helpline-number. If Fastag is linked to Paytm then you can complain. You have to call the helpline number 1800-120-4210. You will have to provide some information and links through SMS.
