Digital payment facility will become easier

Its purpose is to make toll payment easier and reduce long queues at toll booths. It is believed that this digital toll system will make the payment process faster and reduce the delay in manual toll collection.

If you don’t have fast tag then you will have to pay double toll

According to the report, those who do not have FASTag will have to pay double the toll. Whether they pay by cash, credit or debit card or UPI. This means that every vehicle should have FASTag. This rule has been implemented by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), which is promoting digital payment across the country and is gradually removing manual toll. The government has already issued its notification. School buses, light motor vehicles and state transport buses have been exempted from FASTag at 5 main points in Mumbai.

Emphasis on the need for technology

This policy was challenged in the Bombay High Court over the difficulties in transitioning to digital payments. Some people believed that it was unfair to those who are not digitally literate. But the court upheld it and said that it does not infringe on the rights of vehicle owners. While dismissing a PIL, the court stressed the need to adopt technology, which is the demand of today’s time.

There will be transparency in toll collection

This decision sends a strong message towards digital transformation. This move of FASTag will not only reduce traffic jams but will also reduce fuel expenses and promote transparency in toll collection. This system can be a challenge for those who are not yet familiar with digital payments.

Note – Many banks offer the facility of FASTag. The same recharge can be done through PhonePe, Paytm and PhonePe.
