Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: If you are traveling on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, you can save up to two hours in travel time between Delhi and Jaipur and up to 12 hours between Delhi-Mumbai. The maximum speed allowed on this expressway will be 120 kilometers per hour.
The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will have several safety and security features. The administration of the expressway will be very strict on over-speeding. Speed limit violators on the Delhi-Jaipur section will be penalized almost immediately. Violators will soon get an SMS informing them about the fine to be imposed for not following the speed limit.
The authorities have installed CCTV cameras at every kilometer. These cameras will keep a close watch on both sides within a radius of 500 metres. This means that the entire expressway will be under CCTV surveillance. The speeders will get instant alerts through SMS on their mobile phones. The cameras will read the phone numbers of the car through the FasTag and send a message alerting the owner about the speeding.
App will help in locating vehicles
To prevent the communication gap, a mobile application has been made for interaction between the control room and the patrolling team. This application will help in locating the vehicles on the expressway. CCTV cameras will cover a distance of 500 meters at 360 degrees. High speed cameras are being installed at every 2 kms to read the number plates at a speed of 240 kmph.
Alert will be received when the device is damaged
Explain that the control room will get an alert if all the cameras and devices within a radius of 76 kilometers are damaged. It will also receive data and health monitoring. Call boxes will be installed every four to five kilometers. These will be powered by solar energy. Passengers will be able to access the phone with the press of a button. A central command and control room is also being prepared which will work round the clock. All the control rooms on the expressway will be connected to the central control room.
