New Delhi. Vehicles will now be able to run at their old speed on six major routes of Noida including Yamuna Expressway. In view of the possibility of road accidents due to fog in winter, the traffic police had reduced the speed limit of vehicles on 15 December.
Now the old speed limit will be restored from tomorrow i.e. 16 February. Visibility becomes very low due to dense fog in winter. Due to which the possibility of accidents increases a lot. To reduce these accidents, a decision was taken to reduce the speed of vehicles.
From Sunday, four-wheelers will be able to run at a speed of 100 kmph on the expressway, which was reduced to 75 kmph in December. The speed limit for heavy vehicles will be 80 kmph, which was reduced to 60 kmph on December 15. Similarly, the speed limit on the elevated road at MP 2 was increased to 50 kmph for light vehicles and 40 kmph for heavy vehicles, which has now been increased again.
Expressway management confirmed that
senior manager of the expressway JK Sharma said that all other arrangements except the speed limit will continue from February 16. As before, the speed of light vehicles will be 100 kmph and that of heavy vehicles will be 80 kmph, which was increased to 75 kmph and 60 kmph from December 15, 2024.
Old speed limit will be restored on these roads as well
Apart from the expressway, the speed limit which was earlier in force will be restored from December 15 on Master Plan Road Number-1 (DND Toll Plaza to Sector-57 Square), Master Plan Road Number-2 (Sector-18 to Sector-60 Underpass), Master Plan Road Number-3 (Kalindi Kunj to Sector-122), Road Number-6 (Sector-62 Model Town roundabout to Sector-71 underpass) and DSC (Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera) Road. Till now the speed limit on these roads is 60 kmph which will become 80 kmph on Sunday.
