In India, cases of fraud by companies regarding the Provident Fund (PF) money of employees are increasing. Recently, a case was registered against SpiceJet officials for not depositing the PF money of employees in their accounts.
To curb such cases, the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is going to introduce a new system soon. Under this new system, as soon as money is deposited in the PF account of the employee, he will get information about it in real-time through SMS.
SMS alert will stop fraud
Many companies deduct PF money from the salary of employees but do not deposit it in the PF account. This causes huge loss to the employees and EPFO has to face complaints. With the new SMS alert service, employees will be able to know every month whether their PF money has been deposited on time or not. This will stop embezzlement of money by companies.
How to check PF balance?
EPFO has provided several facilities to know PF balance:
- Visit the website: Log in to the EPF passbook portal with UAN and password and view the passbook.
- Use the Umang app : You can check your balance by going to the EPFO option on the Umang app.
- Missed call: You can get balance information by giving a missed call from the registered number to 011-22901406.
- SMS : Send EPFOHO UAN HIN (language) to 7738299899 and get balance information.
This new system will prove to be an important step for the security and transparency of the PF money of the employees.
