EPFO Revises Rules For Submission Of PF Withdrawal Claim

EPF or employee provident fund withdrawal claims above Rs. 10 lakh don’t have to be filed online. Retirement fund body EPFO or Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has recently revised some of its rules related to provident fund claims.

The EPFO has nearly six crore subscribers and manages a corpus of about Rs. 10 lakh crore. In a circular dated April 13, EPFO said offline claims will also be accepted in all cases. EPFO subscribers have the option of filing online as well as manual claims for provident fund withdrawals.

EPF Withdrawal – New Rules

“In case the amount of claim settlement is above Rs. 10 lacs for PF claims and Rs. 5 lacs in respect of EPS withdrawal claims, the claim form must be accepted through online mode only,” the retirement fund body said in a circular in February. But in the April 13 circular, EPFO said that this rule will be kept in abeyance.

“Considering the grievances raised by members, this stipulation will be kept in abeyance so that offline claims will also be accepted in all cases,” EPFO said in the April 13 circular.

 EPFO, in the April 13 circular, also said that for more security, “claims received online from claimants will be sent online to employers for further verification, only after which the claim will be settled”.

The employer, according to the EPFO, has to return the claim, which has been filed online, within three days to the EPFO office, either accepting or rejecting the claim.



Filing EPF Withdrawal Claims Online

EFPO members with authenticated Aadhaar and bank details seeded against their UAN (Universal Account Number) can submit their claims online. A UAN acts as an umbrella for the multiple member IDs allotted to an individual by different establishments.

1) For submitting a withdrawal claim online, subscribers have to first log into EPFO’s member interface using UAN credentials.

2) Select the relevant claim by clicking on the ‘Online Services’ tab.

(For final settlement of a provident fund deposit, the subscriber is required to select Form 19. He or she can select Form 31 for part withdrawal and Form 10-C for pension withdrawal benefits)

3) EPFO subscribers can track their claim requests online as well. For this, they can click on the Online Services tab and then ‘Track Claim Status’.

      Next window m jja kar apna UAN No aur Password daal kar apna Passbook check kar sakte hai.

      • You can withdraw part PF for relevant
        Reason for example new house loan,
        Repayment of house loan , marriage,
        Or any reason

    • Mr Pravin, u can definitely withdraw partial amount from your PF account. But as much as I know, there is a condition for partial withdrawl that an employee must have completed 5 years in that company …

    • Mr Navneet, u must have a PF number, then u can withdraw your PF from the old PF account through your employer. Just fill the form, get it signed by your employer and submit it to the PF office where your company has a PF account for its employees…

  49. Hi, I am Ravi..please help me with my query.
    I was in a company for 4.5 years and my PF credited for 4.5 years in that account. I left 2 years ago. Now I would like to withdraw through online. But the problem is I am unable to attach my PAN card due to name mismatch. So if i withdraw my PF without attaching my PAN number how much % of tax will be deducted.

    I worked in petrochemical company from March 1997 to May 2008 , so i have applying EPF form 2-3 times but no response from PF office vashi.

    I undersigned Mr.Bakul Govind Sarode, My PF No: MH/95413/122

    I have submitted my Employees Pension Scheme 1995 – 10 C form on dated 1st December 2010 but still i will not get certificate regarding about pension scheme.

    I came to Provident Fund Vashi office many times but nobody can give me a response.

    So Please send me current status of the Pension scheme certificate.

  57. Hi, I have applied for EPF & Pension withdrawl after 7.5 years of continuous service. Out of this 7.5 years, 4.5 years were served in different company where my PF was managed by EPF. Later in my 2nd company they have their own PF trust & I transferred PF & Pension from earlier company. After almost 1 & half months of application i got pension amount, but PF is still pending. I haven’t got the pension slip as yet, but definitely the amount seems to be less
    My queries are –
    1) Will there be any TDS on my PF (Total balance is more than 10 Lacs)
    2) Pension will there be any TDS on pension
