There is very good news for teachers and 7th pay commission employees. In fact, in the meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, on one hand, it has been agreed to appoint a guest teacher on honorarium to the retired teachers to fill the vacant posts.
On the other hand, it has also been decided to give new pay scales to university and college teachers. The amount will be made available to the staff teachers under the UGC pay scale. Apart from this, the minimum honorarium of guest teachers working at present has also been increased to 33,600. Recruitment has also been approved for 1020 new posts. Due to which the teaching staff will get huge benefits. All the same rules will be implemented from 1 October 2022.
In the event of the rules being implemented from October 1, where there will be a huge increase in the salary of the employees, on the other hand the shortage of teachers will also be curbed. The pending demand of teachers and their cadre employees in universities and colleges in Punjab has been fulfilled. The process to revise their pay scale has been approved with effect from January 15, 2016. Along with this, teachers and other employees in government colleges and government aided private colleges including state universities will get huge benefits.
Giving specific information in this matter, the Spokesperson for Chief Minister’s Work said that a proposal has been approved to revise the pay scale from January 15, 2016 for the officer employees working in the same level including teachers in universities and colleges. This amendment will be implemented from 1 October 2022. The proposal of the 7th Pay Commission has been approved. In this situation, the salary and salary of teachers including employees will be seen. At the same time, their salary will be increased from 20,000 to 60,000.
To improve the system, the proposal for appointment of guest teachers has also been approved. The cabinet has approved the proposal to increase the honorarium of guest teachers working in the government colleges of the state to 33600 per month. Honorarium less than 33600 will not be provided to the guest teachers. For this, it will be mandatory for the ineligible guest and teachers working in the government college to complete the UGC human within 2 years of the notification or else they will not be considered eligible for any increase in remuneration.
Preparations have also been made to send visiting faculty to the college. The education system will improve. In such a situation, retired employees up to the age of 70 years are appointed as visiting faculty. According to the same session, honorarium will be provided to them. However, this honorarium will not exceed Rs.30000 per month.
