Central Govt Employees Retirement Age For the past few days, there have been speculations in the media and social media about the increase in the retirement age of government employees.
Some media organizations claim that the Modi government can increase the retirement age by two or three years. Amidst these claims, the Modi government has given an answer regarding the retirement age. Let us tell you that the retirement age of central employees is currently 60 years.
Central Govt Employees Retirement Age Actually, during the winter session of Parliament, questions were asked about the amendment in the retirement age of employees. Presenting a written answer to this question, Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said that no proposal to change the retirement age of central government employees is currently under consideration. He said that “the government does not have any such proposal under consideration.”
Singh also said that the government is continuously engaged in formulating policies, programmes and other measures to provide employment to youth in civil services based on the requirement of work. The ministries and departments of the Central Government have been directed from time to time to fill the vacant posts in a timely manner.
He said the job fairs are organised to fill vacancies in all central government ministries, departments, Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs), autonomous bodies and institutions in the education and health sectors in a mission mode to enable youth to get employment in the administrative services.
