The heat wave continues in Rajasthan. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in Barmer was recorded at 48 degrees Celsius. Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner were hit by heavy heat.

Meanwhile, the leaves of the employees of the medical and drinking water departments, including top officials, have been cancelled in the state. All the employees have been instructed to stay at the headquarters. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heat wave continuing in many places of the state for the next five days.

According to the Meteorological Center, Jaipur, on Wednesday the maximum temperature was recorded at 48.0 degrees in Barmer, 47.8 degrees in Phalodi, 47.6 degrees in Fatehpur, 47.5 degrees in Churu, 47.2-47.2 degrees in Jalore and Jaisalmer and 47.1 degrees Celsius in Vanasthali. Similarly, the mercury was recorded at 46.8 degrees in Pilani, 46.7 degrees in Ganganagar, 46.5 degrees in Jodhpur, 46.4 degrees in Bikaner, 46.3 degrees in Kota and 46.1 degrees Celsius in Dungarpur.

Except Mount Abu, the day temperature in the entire state has been recorded above 43 degrees Celsius. There is a strong possibility of a further increase of 2-3 degrees Celsius in the maximum and minimum temperatures in the next 72 hours.

The Meteorological Department said that there may be severe heat wave at many places in the state in the next five days. The leaves of all the Commissioners, District Collectors, Deputy Collectors and Block officers of the state have been canceled till further orders. The department has taken this step in view of the possibility of falling ill due to the intense heat wave in the state. At the same time, to ensure supply of drinking water and effective management of drinking water, all field officers and employees have been instructed to remain present at the headquarters.

The blame fell on the engineer missing from the control room.

PHED administration is serious on the problem of drinking water in summer. Engineer Roki Saini, who was missing from the control room of the water supply headquarters in Jaipur, has been punished. The Chief Engineer was suspended by the administration. The administration has issued guidelines to all officers and employees not to leave the office without permission in summer.
