The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has made the entire process of obtaining a driving license online across the country. A person from any state can get his driving license made or renewed online through the government’s Parivahan website. But for this, a step-by-step process has to be completed.
How to apply
To get a driving license, first you have to open the link of the Parivahan website. After this, the license related services on the page can be availed first of all, apart from driver and learning license, driving school, online test and appointment, other services can be availed. After pressing the license making button here, a new window opens. This new window opens with Sarathi service along with Parivahan, in which the names of all the states and union territories of the country appear. After this, the page of contactless license service appears. A total of 15 types of services can be availed on this page itself.

Choose in Contactless Service
In the contactless service, one has to choose from a total of 15 types of services. In which facilities like issuing learner’s license, issuing duplicate DL, changing address, updating mobile number, renewing driving license, international driving permit, renewal of commercial license and issuing duplicate license are available.
Application for learning and permanent license
Out of these facilities, after clicking on the learning license button, a new window opens. In which information about the entire process is given. It is told that first of all the application for learning license should be filled completely, after this photo and signature have to be uploaded. If e-KYC is done through Aadhaar, then only the signature has to be uploaded. After this, the necessary documents have to be uploaded. Then the fee has to be deposited. After which the fee payment is verified and the receipt can be printed. After this, a slot has to be booked for the learning license.
How to renew your driving licence
If your driving license is going to expire in the next few months, then it is necessary to get it renewed. For renewal, the option of DL renewal (Driving license renew in India) is also given on this website. Once this option is clicked, a new page opens. Some more information has to be given in the new page. Also, the form has to be filled. After submitting the necessary documents, photo signature and paying the fee, the slot for the test can be booked and in this way renewal (Licence Renewal Process) can be done.
Which documents are required
Some documents are required to get a driving license renewed or made. These include documents like Aadhaar card, PAN card, medical certificate, Form 1 and 1A, scanned photo and signature, birth certificate, passport, as well as UPI, debit or credit card for making payment.
