Now you will not need to go to the Transport Department office for license renewal. The Transport Department has taken a new initiative to make driving license and other vehicle related services simple and convenient.
Now you can apply online for all these services sitting at home, and there is no need to go to any departmental office to avail these services.
The special thing in this new process is that if you cannot go to the office for the photo, then the process of license renewal has been made completely faceless for you. Now this process can be completed online, and the license will be sent directly to your address.
This facility is especially aimed at those people who cannot go to the office due to some reason or are unable to visit the department offices for license renewal due to lack of time.
Benefits of 12 new services
Apart from this, the Transport Department has introduced new facilities for 12 major services. These include services like driving license renewal, duplicate license, address change, and vehicle name transfer. Now all these services are available online from home, and applicants will not have to visit the department offices for these services.
Under these services, the driving license has also been linked to the Aadhar card, which has made the process even easier. After this, the applicants can avail these services directly through speed post. These services will be delivered by the department to the home address of the applicants, and it will also be monitored.
Online document submission and driving test
However, if you are applying for a driving license, you will have to go to the department for a driving test. But keep in mind that the entire process of application and documents for this test will now be done online. All documents will be uploaded on the relevant website, which will save time and make the process more transparent.
Registration of new vehicles and amendment in RCC
Under this new facility, the Transport Department has also provided the facility to do tasks like registration of new vehicles, amendment in RCC of old vehicles, and change in driving license online. After this, the new driving license and registration certificate (RC) will be sent to the applicant’s address through speed post within 7 days.
Speed Post Tracking & SMS Alerts
Under this service, tracking information of documents sent through speed post will also be sent to applicants via SMS. This will help applicants know where their documents have reached and when they will receive them. Applicants can track their documents using the tracking ID of speed post.
