Double Toll Tax: NHAI changed the rules regarding Fastag, if you make this mistake then you will have to pay double toll

Double Toll Tax: If you do not install FastTag on the windscreen of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), you will be charged double the fine. Along with this, the vehicle will also be blacklisted.

Now you will have to pay double toll tax for not affixing Fastag on the windscreen. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has changed the rules. While issuing the order on Thursday, the authority has stated that double toll tax will now be charged from those vehicles which have not affixed Fastag on the windscreen of their vehicles.

It is mandatory to affix Fastag on the windscreen. Some people do not affix the tag on the vehicle even after getting the tag. After this, they enter the toll lane and affix the tag on the wind. This process gets delayed a lot and people face inconvenience. Unnecessary delays cause traffic jams. This affects the entire process.

If FASTag is not installed on the windscreen –

NPCI then the vehicle will be blacklisted

The authority has said that any tag which is not installed on the vehicle as per the standard procedure, that vehicle is not entitled to do Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) transaction at the toll. Double toll tax will be charged from it. Even then if someone does not comply, he will be blacklisted. Banks have also been instructed to install the tag on the windscreen.

FASTag will be provided at every toll plaza – NPCI information

The authority has said that information will be given at all toll plazas in this regard. In this information, it will be prominently told that if you enter the toll lane without installing Fastag on the windshield, then you will have to pay double toll tax. Along with this, CCTV footage with the vehicle registration number (VRN) at the plaza will be recorded in non-Fastag cases. This will act as a proof.
