Pension: The Maharashtra government on Thursday increased the pension of freedom fighters who participated in the Indian Freedom Struggle, Marathwada Liberation War and Goa Liberation War from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 per month.
A decision in this regard was taken in the weekly cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde here. This proposal regarding EWS category was also passed
The cabinet also passed a resolution allowing socially and educationally backward class candidates (Marathas) to avail quota for jobs under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category. According to a statement issued from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the cabinet has started the recruitment process in this regard after September 9, 2020.
Resolution passed regarding Kisan Samiti elections
According to the statement, a resolution allowing farmers whose names are not included in the voter list to contest the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) elections was also passed. The cabinet also approved a proposal to raise Rs 35,629 crore through debt to finance road development projects in the state. This will also help to expedite land acquisition for such projects.
