There is no holiday on Diwali in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir

While Diwali will be celebrated all over the country, no holiday has been declared for Diwali. This means that work will continue on the day of Diwali. Similarly, there is no holiday for Diwali in areas like Jammu and Kashmir. People here give priority to their local traditions and festivals. However, many people here also celebrate the festival of Diwali. But it is not generally recognized as a government holiday here.

One day holiday in kerala

The effect of Diwali is less visible in the states of South India. In Kerala, Diwali holiday has been declared only on 1st November. There is no holiday in the schools here for the other festivals like Govardhan and Bhai Dooj.

Uttarakhand

Schools in Uttarakhand will remain closed from 1st November to 3rd November. But due to change in the date of Diwali, this holiday can also be changed. According to the holiday calendar till now, no special holiday has been given on Diwali in Uttarakhand. In the schools here, holiday on 1st November has been declared for Diwali. 2nd and 3rd are Saturday and Sunday.

Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh

The number of tribals is more in Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Hence, the festivals of tribal tradition are given more importance here. This is the reason why there is no Diwali holiday in both Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
