There is good news for the government employees of Bihar and UP. The governments of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are going to give Diwali gifts to their employees. In fact, in view of the upcoming festival, the Bihar and Uttar Pradesh governments have decided to release the salary of the month of October to the employees of their respective states before Diwali.

Bihar government took decision keeping in mind Diwali-Chhath

Anand Kishore, Principal Secretary, Finance Department in Bihar has issued an order saying that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, all state employees will be given the salary of the month of October in advance on October 25, 2024.

It has been told that after the instructions of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, the Bihar government has issued a special order for all the employees of the state keeping in mind Diwali and Chhath festival. With this decision, the employees of the state will be able to celebrate Diwali and Chhath festival happily with their families.

All the employees of Bihar will get their salary on October 25

The Principal Secretary has issued instructions to the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Secretary to the Legislature, Additional Chief Secretary of all departments, Principal Secretary, Secretary, all department heads, all divisional commissioners and District Magistrates to distribute salaries to the employees from October 25. The order states that for the government employees who are retiring or whose service is ending this month, salary payment (excluding monthly salary) will be ensured till the last working day of October.

This decision has been taken under Rule 141 of the Bihar Treasury Code, 2011. All the concerned departments and officers have been instructed to ensure compliance of this order, so that the employees can get the benefit of their salary on time.

Employees and pensioners will get salary on October 30 in UP

At the same time, the Uttar Pradesh government has also decided to pay salaries to its employees and pensioners before Diwali. Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar has said in the order issued that due to the public holidays of Diwali on 31 October, Govardhan Puja on 2 November and Bhai Dooj and Chitra Gupta Jayanti on 3 November, the Governor has approved the payment of salary and pension/family pension for October 2024 to all state employees and aided educational and technical educational institutions, urban local bodies and employees in charge of work and pensioners/family pensioners receiving pension from the treasuries of Uttar Pradesh on 30 October.

The employees of both the states are very happy with this decision. By getting salary on time, they will be able to celebrate festivals in a better way.

Dearness allowance expected to increase in both states

Let us tell you that there is a possibility of increase in dearness allowance (DA Hike) for employees in both the states. The Center has announced a three percent increase in dearness allowance. With this, the rate of dearness allowance payable from July 1 has now increased from 50 percent to 53 percent. After the increase in dearness allowance by the central government, the state governments can also take their decision in this regard soon.
