Diwali 2024: There will be two days of government holiday on Diwali in Uttar Pradesh this year. The Yogi Adityanath government has announced extra holidays for UP government employees.
Now employees will get leave on both October 31 and November 1, giving them extra time to celebrate Diwali. Along with additional holidays, various government offices and secondary schools in Uttar Pradesh will also remain closed on November 1. This year the celebration of Diwali will start from October 31 and will continue till the evening of November 1, giving employees extra time to celebrate with family.
Due to Diwali, a public holiday has already been announced in the entire state on October 31, but now the government has also announced Diwali holiday on November 1, 2024. Due to this, there will be a public holiday on November 1 in the whole of UP.
The Uttar Pradesh government has declared an official holiday on Diwali on October 31 in schools. After this, Govardhan Puja will be held on November 2 and Bhaiya Dooj will be celebrated on November 3. Due to this, all the schools in UP will remain closed on October 31 and November 2 and 3. Now the government has also declared a holiday on November 1, 2024.
However, the Yogi government has given official holiday on November 1 in addition to October 31 with conditions. A government order states that instead of November 1, 2024, there will be no holiday on Saturday, November 9, 2024. All government work on that day will be like normal days. In such a situation, employees will have to go to the office.
