Traffic was affected in the south-eastern part of the city as the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi entered Delhi on Saturday morning. The traffic police on Friday issued an advisory for the people regarding the routes which are likely to be blocked due to ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
Traffic will be affected in these areas
The yatra will take rest at Ashram Chowk in the national capital at 11 am and then resume at 1 pm. Traffic is expected to be disrupted in many parts of central Delhi when the yatra will proceed towards Red Fort via Mathura Road, India Gate and ITO.
Pedestrians will be traveling in large numbers
It has been said in the advisory that the yatra will reach Jaidev Ashram near Ashram Chowk at around 10.30 am and end at Red Fort at around 4.30 pm. A large number of pedestrians and vehicles are expected to participate in the yatra at different stretches on this route.
Traffic police made this request to the people
There is a possibility of heavy traffic movement from Badarpur border to Red Fort. Commuters have been requested to avoid passing through these roads and make maximum use of public transport.
