A news related to Delhi Metro is coming out. Passengers are not getting Smart Card to pay fare at Metro Stations. Due to which passengers traveling in Metro are facing problems. It is being said that instead of Smart Card at the stations, National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) is being given to the passengers. Many passengers traveling in Metro are not aware of this.
It is being said that the employees at the customer care counters of the stations tell that this card is no longer available, and even the passengers are being forcibly given the National Common Mobility Cards.
No recharge through vending machine
According to the passengers, this card cannot be recharged through the ticket vending machine, this card can be recharged only through Airtel Thanks app. It cannot be recharged even through UPI from any other app. The surprising thing is that there are no machines to validate the recharge of NCMC card.
Recharges of less than Rs 200 are not accepted at the customer care centre. In such a situation, those who are not smart phone users will face more difficulties.
DMRC denied the claims
However, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has denied all these claims. It also said that old smart cards are also being given on demand of passengers.
According to DMRC, there are three types of National Common Mobility Cards (NCMC Cards). First – Prepaid cards, which have a wallet, it is like a debit card. This card can be used in parking at all places including metro. Apart from this, DMRC said that fares of all metros and Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Rail can also be paid through NCMC cards.
The second is a PPI card, which works in any metro across the country. While, the third is a debit card, which is available only to those with Airtel accounts.
