Don’t go in the ladies coach

Actually, if you travel by metro, then know that the first coach in the direction of the train’s movement is reserved for women, that is, only women can travel in this coach. In such a situation, if a man is caught traveling in this coach, then he is fined.

Flying squads remain deployed

Flying squads are deployed at various places (many metro stations) on the metro route. This squad comprises of Central Industrial Security Force i.e. CISF, Delhi Metro Rail Police i.e. DMRP and DMRC personnel. This squad catches those people who are caught travelling in the women’s coach.

Why can’t men travel in women’s coach?

Actually, a few years ago, DMRC had decided that the first coach in the direction of the train’s movement would be reserved for women. This was done so that cases like molestation and misbehavior with women could be stopped inside the metro and women could travel without any problem and get a safe environment in the metro.

How much is the fine?

If a man is caught travelling in the women’s coach in the metro, then a fine of Rs 250 is imposed on him under the Delhi Metro O&M Act. Therefore, avoid travelling in the women’s coach.

You can contact on this helpline

At the same time, if women have any problem in the metro train or in the premises or want to report any misbehavior or any unauthorized entry, then they can contact DMRC’s 24*7 helpline number 155370.
