There is good news for Delhi Metro passengers. Now metro passengers will soon be able to use the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). Actually, the work of technical change has been completed at the AFC gate of metro stations.
In the first phase, passengers will get this facility at 35 percent gates of the Delhi Metro network. After this, this facility will be available at all entry and exit gates. To increase convenience in public transport, work was done in the direction of NCMC on the initiative of the Center. Actually, NCMC was to be implemented in 2022 only. There are around 3,500 AFC gates in the Delhi Metro network.
Passengers will be able to use NCMC at 1,100 AFC gates in the first phase in April. Preparations for this have been completed. For the introduction of NCMC, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has tied up with banks for RuPay cards. Passengers will be able to use RuPay card as a ticket at any metro station.
Tender for buses has been put again.
It is worth noting that already on the Airport Express Line, passengers have the facility to travel by scanning the QR code. Now after the introduction of mobility card, apart from debit card, credit card, QR code, passengers will also be able to take tickets through mobile.
For this, its facility has been made available at all stations. At the same time, once again the tender has gone to Jalal to implement NCMC in buses. After the completion of the tender process, the National Common Mobility Card will also be started for buses. Let us tell you that due to this, passengers will have to use only one card to travel in metro or bus.
At present, due to non-availability of this facility, the passengers have to pay the fare for both the modes of transport repeatedly.
