Ayushman Bharat Yojana has been implemented in Delhi. Delhi government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Centre to launch Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme in the national capital.
After the implementation of this scheme, eligible families of Delhi will now get free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh. In this, Rs 5 lakh will be given by the Central Government and Rs 5 lakh by the State Government.
With this, Delhi has become the 35th state/union territory to implement the scheme. West Bengal is now the only state where the scheme has not been implemented. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Delhi government and the National Health Authority in the presence of Union Health Minister J P Nadda and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta among others. After the signing of the MoU, a special campaign will be launched to enroll beneficiaries under the scheme.
Earlier, Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh had informed that the poorest people will be given priority in the Delhi government’s Ayushman Bharat scheme. One lakh people will be included under the scheme by April 10, which aims to improve Delhi’s health infrastructure. The minister said that this initiative will improve Delhi’s health infrastructure, patients will get better primary care and health services will increase.
He said the records of patients will be maintained digitally, which will lead to better monitoring and management. We will first issue the cards to those who need it the most, including beneficiaries under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and priority families. After that, we will further expand the scope of beneficiaries under the scheme.
