Work on the fourth phase of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, which connects Dehradun to the Rajaji National Park, is nearing completion, media reports have claimed. If everything goes as planned, the work will be completed by June and the 12-km-long elevated portion of the road will be operational by July.

This expressway will be Asia’s longest wildlife corridor. For which a 12 km long elevated flyover is currently being constructed.

According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the project will be completed by June 30. This expressway will connect Delhi to Dehradun via Saharanpur, Baghpat, Baraut and Shamli. The number of lanes in the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is six, which can be increased to eight.

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Travel Time

With the construction of this expressway, the travel time will be reduced from 6.5 hours to 2.5 hours and the distance will be reduced from 235 km to 213 km.

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Cost

Although a part of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is expected to become operational in July this year, the construction of the entire highway is scheduled to be completed in May 2025. Media reports say that the project is likely to cost around Rs 13,000 crore.

This many passengers will travel daily

After the expressway opens, officials expect the number of vehicles using this route to increase to 20,000 to 30,000 daily.
