A day earlier, the Union Cabinet approved the increase in DA for the Central Government employees. After this, today the Rajasthan government has also taken a similar decision.

Now this is the rate of DA

The Rajasthan government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced on Saturday to increase the DA ie dearness allowance by 04 percent. With this, now the rate of dearness allowance has increased to 42 percent in the state. Earlier, the Rajasthan government employees were getting dearness allowance at the rate of 38 per cent. This means that lakhs of Rajasthan government employees and pensioners will now get more money every month.

Will get benefit from January itself

Announcing the increase in DA, the state government also told that the change will be implemented from January 01, 2023 itself. This means that the employees and pensioners of the state government will get the benefit of increased salary and pension from January itself. Now when they will get salary or pension, then they will also get arrears from January till the month of payment.

Benefits to such employees

According to the Rajasthan government, its decision will directly benefit about 8 lakh employees and 4.40 lakh pensioners. In this way, about 12.50 lakh people of Rajasthan are going to get direct benefit. The state government told that apart from its employees, the employees of Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad will also get the benefit of increased dearness allowance.

This much will be the burden on the exchequer

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on the occasion that the decision to increase DA will put an additional burden of about Rs 1,640 crore on the state exchequer every year. On this occasion, he also compared the steps taken by the central government a day earlier and the announcement made by the state government today. He said that the central government has implemented the increase in dearness allowance after a long gap of announcing it, while the Rajasthan government is ensuring that it is implemented as soon as it is announced.
