The first good news of the year 2023 for central employees will be available when their dearness allowance will be announced. However, there is still time in this. But, how much dearness allowance they will get, it is going to be confirmed. Just 15 days and then the way for DA Hike will be clear for them. The numbers related to DA are going to come on 31 January 2023.

It will be clear from these numbers that how much will be the increase in their dearness allowance for the first half of the year 2023. Actually, the data of AICPI index comes on the last date of every month. The figure for December 2022 is to come on January 31. This will be the final figure, on the basis of which the dearness allowance of central employees will increase.

How much will the DA Hike increase?

Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) for the first half of the year 2023 i.e. January to June 2023 will be announced in March 2023. But, its final numbers will come by January 31. Actually, the dearness allowance is decided on the basis of AICPI index. The Ministry of Labor increases the dearness allowance in view of the inflation of many important things in the index. So far the figures till November 2022 have come.

The index number is at 132.5. In such a situation, there is a definite increase of 3% in the dearness allowance of the central government employees. If the index numbers remain stable in December as well, then their dearness allowance will increase by 3%. But, if there is a jump of 1 point in the December figure, then DA Hike can also be 4%. However, its chances appear slim.

Why the figure of AICPI Index will not increase?

If experts are to be believed, the CPI inflation numbers for December have come on January 12. In this, retail inflation has come down to the lowest level of 1 year at 5.72% in December. At the same time, retail inflation was at 5.88% in November. When retail inflation came down in November, there was no change in the AICPI index as well.

The AICPI index was at 132.5 points in October 2022, which remained stable in November as well. In such a situation, experts are assuming that December 2022 All India Consumer Price Index is also likely to remain stable. Even if there is a slight change in the index, the DA hike will be 3% only.

How much will be the DA of central employees?

If the index of December 2022 remains constant, then the dearness allowance will increase by 3%. In this context, the total dearness allowance will reach 41% under the 7th Pay Commission. At present, central employees are being paid 38% dearness allowance from July 2022. If the basic salary of a central employee is Rs 18000, then he gets Rs 6 thousand 840 per month as DA. But, if there is an increase of 3% (DA Hike), the DA will be 41% and the dearness allowance of the central employee will be 7 thousand 380 rupees. This means that there will be a total increase of Rs 540 in their dearness allowance every month.

When will the dearness allowance be announced for the year 2023?

For central employees, even though it will be confirmed on January 31, how much their DA will increase. But, it will be announced in March. According to the information received by Zee Business, it will be approved in the cabinet meeting to be held on 1 March 2023. After getting approval in March, DA Hike will be paid in the salary of 31 March. Also, they will get arrears of two months (January and February).
