7th Pay Commission Update: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has announced the New Year gift for state government employees and pensioners. The state government has announced a 12 percent increase in Dearness Allowance for its employees and Dearness Relief for pensioners .
This increase will be applicable from December 1. After this decision, the DA of state employees has increased from 8 percent to 20 percent. What does the Chief Minister of the state tell after this decision.
Salary of these employees will be doubled
State CM Saha said in a press conference on Tuesday that this decision will benefit 1,04,600 regular employees and 80,800 pensioners. Apart from this, temporary employees will also benefit as their remuneration has almost doubled. The Chief Minister said that the 12 per cent increase in DA/DR would put an additional burden of Rs 120 crore on the state government every month and Rs 1,440 crore on an annual basis.
Saha said that despite the paucity of resources, the state government has revised the salary structure. This will benefit lakhs of employees and their families.
DA of central employees may increase by 4 percent
According to media reports, the first DA hike of 2023 may be of 4 per cent. This would mean that the DA rate for central government employees may increase to 42 under the 7th Pay Commission rules. With such an increase, along with 48 lakh employees, 68 lakh pensioners will get a big relief in the form of Dearness Relief (DR).
Central government employees had increased the DA rate from 31 percent to 34 percent with a hike of 3 percent in January 2022. The second hike in 2022 increased DA by 4 percent, taking the figure to 38 percent.
