DA may increase by 3 percent
Actually, it is being said in media reports that the central government may increase the dearness allowance given to central employees in March. In such a situation, the salary of the employees is sure to increase, because according to the current figures, an increase of 3 percent in the dearness allowance is being expected.
Currently getting 38 percent DA
Actually, dearness allowance is determined on the basis of the figures of All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (AICPI-IW) of the Ministry of Labor. According to the figures of November 2022, the DA of the employees getting 38 percent dearness allowance will increase to 41 percent. But if there is a jump in the AICPI figures of December 2022, then there can be an increase of 4 percent in the dearness allowance of the employees. The new dearness allowance will be applicable from January 2023.
Know how the salary will increase as the inflation figures for December 2022 are yet to come, in which there is less hope of a bounce in the AICPI index. In such a situation, it is believed that an increase of at least 3 percent in the dearness allowance of central employees is almost certain. If seen on this basis, the DA of Cabinet Secretary level officers with a basic salary of Rs 2.5 lakh per month will increase by Rs 7,500, which means their salary will increase by Rs 90,000 annually.
At the same time, dearness allowance will increase by Rs 900 per month for employees with a basic salary of Rs 30,000 per month, which means there will be an annual salary increase of Rs 10,800.
Dearness Allowance is reviewed twice a year.
