7th Pay Commission DA Hike: Central Government Employees have fun after Holi. If you are also waiting for increased salary, then a big amount is going to come in your account.
In the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it has been decided to increase the dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners. Dearness allowance has been increased from 38 percent to 42 percent. This increase in dearness allowance will be applicable from January 2023.
In the last six months i.e. between July and December, the inflation figure between the consumer price index increased by 4.4 percent. That’s why there has been an increase of 4 percent in it. Now dearness allowance will be paid at the rate of 42 per cent. Till January, he was getting paid at the rate of 38 per cent.
The DA, calculated on the basis of the Consumer Price Index, is increased as per the recommendations. Labor Bureau calculates on the basis of Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW) in which proportion the inflation has increased, in the same proportion dearness allowance is given. It is revised every 6 months.
How much will be the increase in salary?
DA is calculated on the basis of basic pay. The increase in DA increases the take-home salary of the employees. For example, a central government employee gets a basic salary of Rs 25,500 per month. His dearness allowance at 38 per cent was Rs 9,690. Now with DA increasing to 42 per cent, he will get Rs 10,710 as dearness allowance. So that means now his salary will increase by Rs 10,710 – 9,690 = Rs 1,020 every month.
