DA Hike Latest News: Everyone eagerly waits for Diwali, the biggest festival of the country. In this episode, giving a Diwali gift, the Tamil Nadu government has announced a 3% increase in dearness allowance (DA) for government employees and teachers.

This increase is effective from July 1. 16 lakh government employees, teachers, pensioners and family pensioners are expected to benefit from the Tamil Nadu government’s announcement. After this increase, the Tamil Nadu government will have to incur an additional annual expenditure of ₹ 1931 crore.

Let us tell you that earlier the central government had increased the dearness allowance by 3%. This will be effective from July 1, 2024. This will benefit more than one crore employees and pensioners before Diwali. Earlier in March, the government had increased DA / DR by four percentage points to 50 percent from January 1, 2024.

These states also increased DA

Before Diwali, different states of the country have also increased dearness allowance. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai announced a 4% increase in dearness allowance of state government employees. With this, dearness allowance in the state will now be 50% of the basic salary. Employees will get the benefit of dearness allowance from October 1. State government employees were demanding DA equal to the Center for a long time, which has been approved by the Sai government.
