DA Hike News: New Year gift to govt employees in this state, 3% increase in dearness allowance

7th Pay Commission: There are only a few days left for the year 2024 to end. After a few days, the new year 2025 will begin. In such a situation, just before the new year, the Jharkhand government has given a big gift to its government employees. 

Actually, the Jharkhand Cabinet has decided to increase the dearness allowance by 3 percent (Jharkhand DA Hike) while giving a New Year gift to the state employees. This increase will be considered effective from July 1, 2024. In such a situation, the government employees of Jharkhand will also get DA arrears of 6 months. The central government had recently increased the dearness allowance of its employees.

The dearness relief (DR) given to pensioners in Jharkhand has also been increased by 3 percent to 53 percent. In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the proposal to increase the dearness allowance of Jharkhand government employees and dearness relief to pensioners was approved. This increase will benefit more than 3 lakh employees and pensioners of the state.

10 proposals passed in Jharkhand Cabinet

A total of 10 proposals were passed by the Cabinet, including administrative approval of Rs 99.56 crore for Multi-Disciplinary Education and Research University (MERU) on the campus of Vinoba Bhave University (VBU), Hazaribagh, under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA). “We are ready to move ahead with a visionary mindset for the betterment of Jharkhand,” Soren said.

About 16,000 crore rupees are spent annually on salary allowances.

A total of 5,33,737 posts of different levels are sanctioned in different departments of the Jharkhand government. As against these sanctioned posts, people are working on 1,83,016 posts. About 16,000 crore rupees are spent annually by the state government on salary allowances of employees working on regular posts.
