7th Pay Commission Latest News Today : Central Government employees can get good news before the festival of Holi. According to media reports, the Central Government may increase Dearness Allowance (DA) for them in the next 15 days.
Soon the pending demand of the employees can be met. The report states that the decision to hike the DA may be approved during the Union Cabinet meeting to be held on March 1. If it is approved, then the central government can announce about the increase in dearness allowance on or before Holi 2023. Government employees have been demanding a hike in DA for a long time.
Normally, the DA and DR (Dearness Relief) of the central government employees are increased twice a year. First in January and again in July. The central government had increased the dearness allowance under the Seventh Pay Commission in March last year and again in September. If we look at the trend of the previous years of the government, then the central government can increase the DA in March 2023.
How much will DA increase?
The central government had increased DA by 4 per cent in September 2022, from 34 per cent to 38 per cent. If reports are to be believed, this time also there may be a 4 per cent increase in DA for central government employees. However, no official announcement has been made on this yet. If the demand of 4 percent increase in DA is accepted, then the salary of government employees will automatically increase.
After the 4 per cent increase in DA, DA will increase from 38 per cent to 42 per cent. Meanwhile, some other reports said that the Center may introduce a new commission. However, nothing has been said about the 8th Pay Commission in the recently presented Union Budget.
