7th Pay Commission: On the occasion of Diwali, the Assam government has decided to increase the dearness allowance as a gift to its employees. This is the second time this year that the Assam government has increased the DA for its employees.
After the central government, now the Assam government has given a Diwali gift to the government employees. Actually, the Assam government has announced an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees. The Assam Cabinet led by the Chief Minister of the state Himanta Biswa Sarma has approved a 3 percent increase in DA. This increase will be considered effective from July 1, 2024.
According to ANI report, after the 3 per cent hike, the total dearness allowance of Assam employees will now increase to 53 per cent, which is equal to that of central government employees. The new DA will be reflected in the salary from December. Employees will get their DA arrears from December to March, in which the amount will be paid in 4 equal installments.
DA increased for the second time this year
CM Sarma said that the increase in DA is a Diwali gift from the government to the employees. This is the second time this year that the Assam government has increased the dearness allowance for its employees. In March, the state government implemented a 4 percent increase in DA.
Dearness allowance of UP employees increased by 3 percent.
Recently, the Yogi government of UP has issued an order to increase dearness allowance by 3 percent, giving Diwali gift to the state employees. Now the employees of UP will get 53 percent DA. The increased dearness allowance will be available from July 1. Dearness allowance will be added to the salary received on October 30.
Gift to employees of Arunachal Pradesh too
Apart from this, the Arunachal Pradesh government has also increased the DA. The state government has increased the DA by 3% for employees and pensioners.
