It is estimated that the government may increase DA to 42 percent this week. Due to this, there will be a tremendous increase in the salary of central employees. The decision of the Central Government is going to benefit more than 1 crore employees and pensioners.
In order to give relief to government employees and pensioners from inflation, the central government revises the dearness allowance twice every year in January and July, and the salary also gets revised, the aim of which is to reduce the effect of inflation.
Now in the year 2023, dearness allowance (DA) was to increase, which has not been increased till now. It has been said in the reports that in the cabinet meeting to be held on March 15, 2023, PM Modi can announce the benefit of increased allowance to the employees.
According to the report, in the proposed cabinet meeting on March 1, 2023, it has been agreed to increase the dearness allowance to central employees and pensioners. Now it is yet to be announced. It is being said in media reports that this time the Union Cabinet has agreed to increase DA by 4 percent.
This means that the dearness allowance of central employees will increase to 42 per cent. However, its announcement is yet to be made. Central employees and pensioners are currently getting 38 per cent dearness allowance and dearness relief. Last time in July 2022, DA and DR were increased from 34 percent to 38 percent of the basic pay.
How much will the salary of central employees increase?
According to the 7th Pay Commission, the minimum salary of a central employee is Rs 18,000 per month, so if the DA is increased by 4 percent, you will get Rs 720 more. At present, according to 38 per cent DA, the total dearness allowance per month is Rs 6,840 and after 42 per cent DA, this amount will increase to a total of Rs 7,560 per month.
