IMD Issues Weather Update: Most of the states in North India are experiencing severe cold. In many states, the cold is so severe that it has become difficult for people to leave their homes.
Meanwhile, IMD has issued an alert increasing the troubles of the people. IMD has issued an orange alert for severe cold wave in the lower hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh. The local Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for severe cold wave conditions at isolated places in the lower hilly and plain areas of four out of the 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh for the next two days.
Cold will wreak havoc in Himachal
The Meteorological Department said that severe cold wave is likely to continue at isolated places in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Mandi districts, while cold wave is likely in Kangra and frost is likely in Kangra and Kullu districts till Saturday. Meanwhile, cold wave continued in Bilaspur, while Una, Sundarnagar and Hamirpur are in the grip of severe cold wave, while light fog prevailed in some parts of Mandi.
According to Met data, Tabo in tribal district Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest during the night at minus 6.5 degrees Celsius, while Kukumseri recorded minus 4.6 degrees, Manali minus 2.1 degrees, Hamirpur 1.3 degrees, Sundernagar 0.5 degrees, Una 0.4 degrees and Bilaspur 2.2 degrees Celsius.
Shimla and its suburbs remained warm, with the state capital recording a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius, Jubbarhatti 8.3 degrees Celsius and Kufri 6.9 degrees Celsius. The weather department has advised people to stay warm, protect animals and take necessary measures to protect crops from cold and frost.
Temperature dropped below 5 degrees in many districts of Rajasthan
Severe cold continues in some parts of Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department said that severe cold continues in many parts of Rajasthan and the minimum temperature has been recorded below normal at many places. According to the Meteorological Department data, Karauli recorded the lowest night temperature of 1.3 degrees Celsius, followed by Fatehpur (2.5 degrees), Sangaria (3.4 degrees), Sikar (3.7 degrees), Churu (4 degrees), Alwar (4.2 degrees), Ganganagar and Dholpur (4.8 degrees), Nagaur (5.1 degrees), Anta (5.2 degrees), Sirohi (5.3 degrees) and Bhilwara and Pilani (5.4 degrees).
According to the data of the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature was recorded below normal in Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur and Udaipur divisions. According to the IMD, the minimum temperature may fall slightly in many districts of Rajasthan after 24 hours due to a weak western disturbance.
