What is available under the EPS 1995 Scheme?
Let us tell you that if a pensioner dies, 50% of his pension is given to his widow/widower. Under the EPS 1995 scheme, in case of death of an employee during service, his wife/husband is given a minimum pension of ₹ 1000 per month. Apart from husband or wife, two children will also get pension.
First of all, know that on the death of an EPFO member, his spouse always gets pension. Along with this, his two children also get pension. They get this pension until they attain the age of 25 years. If the member who has died has more than 2 children and the first child is above 25 years, then there are rules for this also.
For example, if this pension is given to the first two children of a member, then when the eldest child turns 25, pension will be given to the second and third children. Whereas when the second child turns 25, the benefit of pension will be given to the third and fourth children. In this way all the children will get pension.
Child pension 25% of widow pension amount
Let us tell you that the amount of each child pension is 25% of the amount of widow pension. This means that if a pension of Rs 1000 is being given to the wife/husband of the deceased member, then each of their children will get a pension of Rs 250. If any child of the member is completely or permanently disabled, then in such a situation he is given pension for life.
How to do EPFO/EPS nomination online?
- Go to EPFO website >> Services >> Click on For Employees option >> Then click on Member UAN/Online Service.
- Login by entering your UAN and password.
- There “Manage” tab will appear, select “E-nomination” from it.
- Now a tab with “Provide Details” will appear on your screen.
- Click on “Yes” to update your family details here.
- To add more than two nominees who will receive pension money, click on “Add Family Details”
- Click on “Nomination Details” to know who will get how much money under this scheme. Then click on “Save EPF Nomination”
- To generate OTP, click on E-sign.
- After this, fill the OTP that will come on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar and submit it.
