Centre to issue new simplified pension form for retired personnel

The Centre will release a new simplified pension application form for its retired employees on Friday. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) had released the simplified pension application “Form 6-A” through its notification dated July 16, 2024.

A statement from the Personnel Ministry on Thursday said, “This form will be available in future/e-HRMS (online module) for all Central Government employees who are due to retire in December 2024 and thereafter.

Retiring officers who are on e-HRMS will fill Form 6-A through e-HRMS and those who are not on e-HRMS will fill Form 6-A on Bhavishya portal. According to the release, this new form and its integration with Bhavishya/e-HRMS will be released on August 30 by Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh. A total of nine forms/formats have been merged in this new form. It said that this will pave the way for paperless functioning in the entire pension process.

Centre organises pre-retirement counselling workshop for employees. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DOPPW) organised a Pre-Retirement Counselling (PRC) Workshop for the benefit of Central Government employees retiring up to March 31 next year. During the 55th edition of the workshop, various sessions were held on Bhavishya Portal, Integrated Pensioners Portal, Retirement Benefits, Family Pension, CGHS Process, Income Tax Rules, Experience, Digital Life Certificate, Investment Methods and Opportunities etc.

The aim of all these activities was to make the retirees aware about the process to be followed before retirement and the forms to be filled and the benefits they will get after retirement. A bank exhibition was also organised during the workshop in which all the 18 pension disbursing banks participated.

All banking services related to pensioners were made available to the participants. Banks also guided those on permanent retirement from service on how to open pension accounts and invest pension funds in various schemes suitable to them.
