Central Government Pensioners DR Hike : A good news has come out for the pensioners of the Central Government.
The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has decided to increase the dearness relief by 15 per cent for Contributory Provident Fund (CPF) beneficiaries with effect from July 1. An office memorandum dated October 31 said, “The President is pleased to decide that the Dearness Relief admissible to CPF beneficiaries who have received basic ex-gratia in the 5th CPC series, will be extended with effect from 01.07.2022.”
It is further said that the dearness relief has been increased from 381 per cent of the basic ex-gratia to 396% of the original ex-gratia amount. The memorandum said, ‘Surviving CPF beneficiaries who have retired from service between the period 18.11.1960 and 31.12.1985 and for Group A, B, C and D will be entitled to Rs 3000, Rs 1000, Rs 750 and 650 respectively. Are entitled to basic ex-gratia at the rate of Rs. June 4, 2013 OM No. 1/10/2012-P&PW(E) dated 27th June, 2013 will now be eligible for enhancement of basic ex-gratia amount from 381% to 396% of basic ex-gratia with effect from 01.07.2022.’
The notification also said that the CPF beneficiaries including widows and eligible dependent children of the deceased CPF beneficiary who retired from service before 01.01.1986 or who died in service before 01.01.1986 would be eligible for revised ex-gratia. The amount is entitled @ Rs.645. Are entitled to get dearness relief from 373 percent of the basic ex-gratia amount to 388 percent of the basic ex-gratia with effect from the month 01.07.2022.
Central Government employees who retired on CPF benefits before 18.11.1960 and are receiving ex-gratia payment of Rs.654, Rs.659, Rs.703 and Rs.965 are also entitled to increase DR from 373 per cent to 388 per cent . The notification further states that pension disbursing authorities including nationalized banks will be responsible for computing the quantum of DR payable in each individual case.
