New Delhi: Central employees can now avail 42 days of additional leave (Special Casual Leave). However, a condition has been added for these leaves. These leaves will be given only to those employees who donate their organs.
During this period, there will be no deduction in the salary of the employees . That is, they will get leaves as well as salary for that many days. The government has also informed the Parliament about these rules related to 42 days of leave.
Recently, information about these leaves was given in response to a question in the Lok Sabha. Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that the government has made a rule of special casual leave for central employees . This rule will be applicable to all government employees. He said that the Government of India has decided to give a maximum of 42 days of special casual leave to its employees on donating organs.
The order came in 2023
The order regarding these leaves came in the year 2023. This order was issued by the Personnel Ministry. According to this order, the employee who donates organs can get leave up to 42 days. However, this leave will not depend on how the operation was.
In any case, leave of more than 42 days will not be available. Whether the operation is small or big. At the same time, doctor’s approval is necessary for these leaves. That is, leave will not be given without doctor’s approval. These leaves will start from the day of admission to the hospital.
time can be extended
As per government rules, the duration of leave can be increased, but in no case, leave of more than 42 days will be available. If the doctor approves 7 days leave for a surgery and later feels that the patient needs more leave, then he can increase the number of days of leave. However, for this, the doctor will have to give it in writing.
As per the rules, the leave will be applicable from the day the person donating the organ is admitted to the hospital. But some relief has been given here as well. If the doctor feels that it is necessary to admit the person in the hospital for a few days before the surgery for organ donation, then in such a case, leave can be available a maximum of one week before the surgery.
