Central employees are waiting for dearness allowance for July half year. It is expected that the Dearness Allowance may go up by 3 or 4 per cent. At present the dearness allowance of central employees is 42 per cent.
Central employees are waiting for Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for the second half of the year. At the same time, the process of increasing DA and DR for the first half of the year is going on in the states. Recently, the Odisha government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of its employees by four percent.
After this increase, the dearness allowance of state government employees and pensioners has now increased from 38 percent to 42 percent. The employees will get enhanced dearness allowance in their June salary. About 7.5 lakh employees and pensioners of the state government will get the benefit of this announcement.
Similarly, Haryana, Tamil Nadu have increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees. Haryana and Tamil Nadu governments announced 4% hike. It has increased from the rate of 38% of basic pay to 42% with effect from January 1, 2023.
Hope to central employees: Let us tell you that the central employees are waiting for dearness allowance for the July half year. It is expected that the Dearness Allowance may go up by 3 or 4 per cent. At present the dearness allowance of central employees is 42 per cent. The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief would be Rs 12,815.60 crore per annum. This will benefit about 47.58 lakh central government employees and 69.76 lakh pensioners.
