National Desk: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is planning to make a big change in its examination system. The board has decided that the class 10th examination will now be conducted twice a year, and this change can be implemented from 2026.

Under this change, if a student does not get a chance to appear in the examination for any reason or he falls ill, then he will get an opportunity to take the exam again. Its purpose is to give more opportunities to the students and reduce the stressful conditions related to the examination.

Draft will be released soon, suggestions will be sought

The official draft regarding this new change will be released soon, and the board will also seek suggestions from the public on it. This decision of CBSE is an attempt to give more opportunities to the students so that they can participate in the examination to their full potential, even if any unexpected reason comes up. This decision has been taken to improve the education environment, so that more emphasis can be placed on the thinking ability and understanding of the children, and not just on memorizing.

Will help in reducing exam related stress

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently held a meeting with CBSE officials, which was also attended by representatives of NCERT, KVS (Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan), and NVS (Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti). The proposed changes were thoroughly reviewed in this meeting. Dharmendra Pradhan clarified the importance of these reforms and said that these steps are necessary towards creating a stress-free learning environment. He believes that these reforms will help reduce exam related stress and ensure a balanced assessment system.

Will prepare to compete internationally

CBSE has also decided to introduce a global curriculum for its 260 foreign schools from 2026-27. This curriculum will help connect students to the global education system and prepare them to compete internationally. Apart from this, the board also plans to invest in teacher training to effectively implement this new assessment system. Through teacher training, CBSE wants to ensure that teachers in schools fully understand the new assessment pattern and guide students in the right direction.

Students were also instructed to be cautious

CBSE has issued strict guidelines for schools regarding the process of changes in class 10 and 12 board examinations. Schools have to upload their response on the OECMS portal on the day of examination. If schools send late response, CBSE will not consider it. Along with this, CBSE has also instructed schools to caution students against misinformation related to paper leak and irregularities in the examination. The board has appealed to everyone to trust only official communication, so that misinformation can be avoided.

CBSE’s strict initiative to maintain transparency and credibility in examinations

To maintain transparency and credibility regarding the examinations, CBSE has instructed to take special precautions regarding paper leaks and irregularities in the examination. The board has appealed to the students and other concerned parties to trust only official information and avoid any kind of rumors. The board has conducted the examination this year for more than 42 lakh students at 7,842 centers, spread across India and abroad.

Students will gain confidence and they will give the exam with less stress.

This move of CBSE is to give more flexibility and opportunity to the students in the examination. If a student is unable to appear in the examination due to any reason or his health deteriorates, then now he will be able to take part in the next round of the examination. This will increase the confidence of the students and they will give the exam with less stress. Apart from this, CBSE aims to promote the mental and physical health of the children through this change, so that they can participate in their studies and examination in a more vigorous manner.
