Cabinet Meeting Update: Many big decisions were taken in today’s cabinet meeting amid the festival. For a long time, the employees were waiting for the increase in dearness allowance. Today, in the cabinet of Modi government, 4% increase in dearness allowance of central employees has been announced, after which the dearness allowance of employees has now increased to 38%.
Apart from this, the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) has also been extended for three months in the cabinet meeting chaired by PM Modi. Now under this scheme, ration card holders will get the benefit of free ration from the government till December. Apart from this, railways has also got a big gift.
4% hike in DA announced
It is noteworthy that the current dearness allowance is 34 percent, which has now been increased by 4 percent to 38 percent. This decision of the government will directly benefit the existing 50 lakh central employees and 62 lakh pensioners. The employees were waiting for this hike since July. The increase in DA by the government will be applicable from July 1, 2022.
Earlier in March 2022, the government had announced to increase DA (Mehngai Bhatta) from January. At that time the DA of central employees was increased from 31 percent to 34 percent. Now it has increased to 38 percent. According to this, the employees will get DA Arrear of two months in the salary of September.
Free ration will be available till December
After the announcement of extending the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) for three months, ration card holders will get the benefit of free ration from the government till December. This will directly benefit 80 crore people. The hint was already given to increase this scheme by the government. The Secretary of the Central Food Department had also indicated this. Let us tell you that the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) is the world’s largest food scheme.
Scheme started in 2020
It is noteworthy that the scheme was started by the central government in April 2020 during the Kovid period. Later in March 2022 it was extended for six months till September. Now the government has once again extended it for three months till December 2022. However, there was talk of extending it by six months in the media report.
Railway got tremendous gift
The cabinet has approved the proposal of Indian Railways for redevelopment of three major railway stations namely New Delhi, Ahmedabad and CSMT, Mumbai. Giving this information, Union Ministers Anurag Thakur and Ashwini Vaishnav said that an investment of about Rs 10,000 crore is involved in this project.
These railway stations will be redeveloped
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “The Central Government has approved Rs 10,000 crore for the redevelopment of New Delhi, Chhatrapati Shivaji and Ahmedabad railway stations. At present, the work of reconstruction of a total of 199 railway stations is also going on.
Giving information, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, ‘New Delhi Railway Station will integrate train services with buses, auto and metro rail services. The redesign of Ahmedabad railway station is inspired by the Sun Temple of Modera and no changes will be made to the heritage building of CSMT, only the buildings around it will be redeveloped.
