Senior citizens aged 60 years and above, who were entitled to concession in fare while traveling in Haryana Roadways buses, will now have to get a centralized pass of the roadways. For this, the roadways will soon prepare its portal.
After entering the information on the portal, when the pass is issued, then the officers of the Roadways Administration will sign it and after that the elderly can travel comfortably with a discount. If there is more than one elderly person in the house, then it will be mandatory for everyone to get their centralized pass.
In this context, a meeting of roadways officials with the officials of a private organization has also been held on Tuesday. The Chief Minister of Haryana had recently made an announcement in the state saying that now instead of 65, 60 years old people will get 50 percent discount in roadways bus fare.
Till now the elderly used to travel in roadways buses by showing their Aadhaar cord, voter cord etc. any cord of their age. It is necessary that this facility was only for the elders of Haryana. It was also such that people from some other states used to travel on the Aadhaar card of Haryana. Now this will not happen after the centralized pass is made. Once the registration of the elderly is done, then this scheme will be started.
Lekhraj (General Manager, Haryana Roadways Faridabad) Haryana Roadways will soon bring its portal. The roadways management has started preparations, in which the elderly will have to register themselves and get the centralized pass issued after completing the formalities.
How to make pass
On the portal of Haryana Roadways, the elderly will have to enter their family identity card, their Aadhaar card and other details. After that OTP will come on the mobile number which will be entered during the details. After that by entering OTP the old man can prepare his centralized pass. The pass will have to be taken to the General Manager and signed. Only after that you will be able to get discount on bus fares.
What would be the advantage
By making a centralized pass, the elderly passenger will have to travel only with the pass. They will not need to carry voter card, Aadhaar card again. Here, Haryana Roadways will also have a record that how many elderly people are able to get benefits during their journey in their buses. So far, there is no such record with the roadways that how many elderly people travel in their buses and how many are getting concession in fare.
