Budget on Farmers: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said at the beginning of the budget speech that the government’s focus is on GYAN i.e. poor, youth, food providers and women.

The government has increased the limit of Kisan Credit Card. The government has increased the limit of Kisan Credit Card from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh in the budget. The announcements for farmers in the budget have given great relief to the country’s food providers. Along with increasing the limit of Kisan Credit Card, the agricultural program includes help to 1.7 crore farmers, agriculture scheme to cover 100 districts with low productivity. Let us tell you that 7.7 crore farmers, fishermen etc. get credit through Kisan Credit Card.
Presenting the budget in Parliament on Saturday, Sitharaman said that the government will increase the loan guarantee cover for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to improve their access to loans. Apart from this, the government will introduce ‘customized’ credit cards with a limit of Rs 5 lakh for micro enterprises. She said that Kisan Credit Cards will provide short-term loan facilities to 7.7 crore farmers, fishermen and dairy farmers. He said that well-run export-oriented MSMEs will be provided term loans up to Rs 20 crore.
PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana announced
PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana has been announced in the budget. This will focus on low productivity in 100 districts and improve it. Under this scheme, the focus will be on increasing irrigation facilities from storage. More than 1 crore farmers will benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Yojana.
- In the budget, the goal of the National Mission for Edible Oil and Seeds has been stated to increase the focus on creating self-sufficiency in this sector.
- It has been said that a 6-year mission will be launched to become self-sufficient in pulses. Under this, central agencies will purchase tur, urad, lentils in the next 4 years.
- In the next 6 years, the focus will be increased on increasing the production of pulses like lentil and pigeon pea.
- Increasing focus on Makhana, the government announced the formation of Makhana Board in Bihar to improve the processing and value addition of Makhana.
- A 5-year mission was announced to increase cotton production.
