BJP’s Big Plan in Support of One Nation-One Election, Discussed in the Meeting

Lucknow: In order to get widespread public support for One Nation-One Election from the Bharatiya Janata Party, a meeting was held on Sunday under the chairmanship of former Governor Fagu Chauhan and in the presence of State General Secretary (Organization) Dharampal Singh. During this, it was decided that rallies will also be organized in support of One Nation-One Election.

Party’s state general secretary (organization) Dharam Pal said that holding state and Lok Sabha elections at different times leads to depletion of the country’s resources and labour force. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party had pledged to hold one nation-one election in its manifesto in the 1984 general elections.
Party’s state general secretary and member of Legislative Council Anup Gupta said that the objective of one nation-one election is to hold Lok Sabha and state assembly elections simultaneously, so that it helps in political stability and continuity of development work is maintained. Currently, in this process, there is talk of holding Lok Sabha and assembly elections simultaneously. Local body and panchayat elections have been kept separate.
He said that in support of one nation-one election, programs will be organized in the state by discussing with various social organizations, institutions and people from major sections of the society. Programs of principals, social workers, students and youth, women etc. will be organized in different universities of the state.
In the meeting, it has been decided to organize a seminar in Banaras Hindu University, a program of business organizations in Kanpur and a program of social organizations in Lucknow in the first week of February/March. Conferences/seminars of advocates, women, businessmen, intellectuals, representatives of voluntary organizations will be organized. Rallies will also be organized by students and youth in support of One Nation-One Election.
