Old Pension News: Debate is still going on in many states across the country regarding the old pension scheme. Now a big update regarding the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) has come to the fore. The old pension scheme has been implemented in many states of the country at this time. Meanwhile, a joint forum of engineers and employees of the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) has demanded implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) with immediate effect.

Along with this, the forum has also opposed the proposal to transfer generation and transmission assets of HPSEB to HPPCL (Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation) and HPPTCL (Himachal Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation) respectively.

1.18 lakh people chose the option of old pension

Let us tell you that only 346 employees in Himachal Pradesh want to stay in the National Pension System ie NPS. About 1.18 lakh employees have opted for the Old Pension Scheme ie OPS. Here on Monday was the last chance to choose Old Pension Scheme and New Pension Scheme. On May 4, the government had given two months time to the employees of Himachal Pradesh.

Statement issued

According to the statement issued here, a resolution was passed regarding the major demands in the meeting of the United Front held on Monday. In this, it was emphasized that the separation of assets of HPSEB is neither in the interest of the employees nor in the interest of electricity consumers.

Expressing serious concern over the transfer of four small hydroelectric projects from HPSEB to HPPCL, the United Front said that these projects are in advanced stage and shifting the projects at this stage would delay the execution by about two years .

Opposition to smart metering project

In another resolution, the Morcha strongly opposed the smart metering project to be carried out in HPSEB under RDSS (Reconstructed Distribution Sector Scheme) and said that it would further worsen the financial health of HPSEB.
