The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh (UP Employee) has given great relief to the differently-abled employees. The state government has issued detailed guidelines regarding increasing the reservation of disabled employees in promotion from 3% to 4%. Under this, promotion of any employee cannot be stopped on the ground of disability. Additional Chief Secretary, Personnel has issued an order in this regard.
According to media reports, the calculation of reservation in promotion will be based on the total number of vacant posts in the establishment. Promotion of handicapped employees will be done only on the posts earmarked for them.
If any department exempts any establishment from the provision of reservation for employees on the basis of the nature of work, then the matter will be sent to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath through the Department of Divyang Welfare. After this, it will be considered by the Chief Minister. The data related to promotion of Divyangjan in each department will be prepared like direct recruitment and then will be sent to the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
As per the order of the UP government…
- If an employee becomes disabled while in service or is unable to discharge his responsibility, he will be shifted to another post in the same pay scale and services.
- Neither he shall be removed from service nor shall he be reduced to any rank.
- In the absence of adjustment in any other post, he will be kept in a supernumerary post until a suitable post becomes available to him or he retires.
