In fact, the Goa government has come up with an offer for electricity consumers, under which the government has brought back the one-time settlement scheme for payment of pending electricity bills with a validity of six months. The government has given information about this.
Chief Minister made a big announcement
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, the state cabinet has made a relief announcement for electricity consumers in the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. The Chief Minister said that the decision to restart the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for electricity bills has been approved. The target of this scheme is to collect Rs 402 crore of pending electricity dues. The government has given great relief to the consumers with this decision.
Big relief to electricity consumers
Pramod Sawant said, ‘This scheme will be applicable for the next six months.’ Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, ‘This scheme was started in the beginning of this year, but at that time many people did not take advantage of it. There are 17,801 consumers under this scheme whose electricity bills are pending. After this, the government had to re-approve this scheme to recover the outstanding electricity bills.
Government approved the plan
After the cabinet meeting, State Energy Minister Sudin Dhavalikar while talking to the media said that this scheme has been resumed after the request of electricity consumers. He said that those industrial units have also been included in this scheme, who have not paid the dues of electricity. Means the government has made this announcement for recovery from these consumers.
