Identity theft is also a big danger
Identity theft and profiling are among the most common cyber crimes. Making children a part of social media means you are giving them an opportunity to steal their identity. Your children’s faces can be used to create fake IDs. Those photos, which you have shared yourself, can be used to take advantage of any kind of government scheme, to commit fraud or to take loans in the name of children.
Misuse possible with AI
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly in discussion these days and it is also being misused for data mining. Along with selected photos of children, fake photos, videos and other documents related to their identity can be easily created. There are also tools in the online world that can create deepfake videos with any face. You don’t want your child to be a part of a video of an activity they’ve never done.
